Phi Ta Phon Festival in Dan Sai @ Bangkok 26-28 Jul 09

Ghost Festival, or Phi Ta Phon Festival, is held in Dan Sai district, about 450km north of Bangkok. This curious festival sees villagers wearing ghost-like masks and shrouds, as they dance their way in a procession to the temple. At the temple, they fire off bamboo rockets.  Along the way in the procession, monks recite the Buddhist scriptures.
